No, literally: the Tehran-born, Toronto-raised designer was a painter first, brushing her feathered flights of fancy onto the canvas necks of imaginary women. Soon, like Pygmalion, she fell in love with her creations and wanted to give them life; to make them real.

Darkroom & Quentin Jones : Haunted

This debut project for Darkroom experiments with space and form and utilises
the vantage points of the store’s large window area, whilst incorporating interactive display elements.

Quentin Jones has been keenly interested in combining surrealist photomontage with the moving image. Her films have become known for collaged imagery being overlaid with graffiti-style painting, all building to a muddled vision of femininity, wild beasts, fashion and modern-day beauty.

HAUNTED exposes the opportunity to view Quentin’s illustration style brought to life in a 3 dimensional window installation.

Roux-Fouillet’s bullets are composed of 24ct gold, diamond, tool steel, and ivory, turtle shell, bull horn or silk (depending on the model). Bullets can be fired into rings, earrings or pendant structures made of platinum or 9ct gold.

This style knife was developed in 1894 by the hardware wholesaler Tasaburo Shigematsu, and the blacksmith Sadaharu Murakami, and soon after it quickly rose to great renown in Japan.

David Bielander : Building a Steak of Creativity

 

“Building a Steak of Creativity” showcases the results of David Bielander’s collaboration with Michelle Taylor. During his West Australian residency the Swiss-born jeweller met many people from Perth’s cultural sector and this exhibition captures Bielander’s interactions with, and perceptions of, the city’s cultural genealogy via a series of life-sized photographic portraits of some of Perth’s creative personalities taken by Taylor on Coogee Beach near Fremantle.
